Frequently asked questions:
  1. For what agency do you teach? We are PADI, EFR and DAN Instructors.  All scuba classes are PADI courses.  We also offer the Emergency First Response (EFR) Primary Care (CPR), Secondary Care (First AID, CPR/AED and Care for Children Courses  As Diver's Alert Network (DAN) instructors, we offer all of the DAN courses.

  2. Since you teach for PADI, why don't you use its logo?  Since we are independent instructors and do not have a dive store, we are not allowed to use the logo due to copyright laws because we offer travel and links to dive stores and equipment stores on our website. To use the PADI logo, we either have to be a PADI dive store and a member of the Retail Association or we cannot offer items for resale such as travel and trips or links to dive stores or our travel company, For Trips To Go.

  3. Where are you located?  We are located in the old Lake Highlands area just northeast of White Rock Lake.  We are independent instructors.    We have a classroom set up in our house and soon we will have an on-site heated pool.    We talked about putting our address on the website, but decided that since we are not an actual store front business and that we publish our calendar on the website, it would be prudent to leave off the address.  BUT, we will furnish the exact address to any one that is interested in scuba lessons.

  4.   You may drop by to check us out.   We issued over 150 certifications in 2006.  If you would like to talk with one of our previous students, we can give you references.  We realize that not everyone wants to take scuba diving from independent instructors.  But we have all of the material, all of the equipment and staff to give you a state of the art scuba class in a professional yet comfortable environment.    Check us out!  Back to Top
  5. How much are your classes?   Our classes start at $350 (all inclusive) for our regularly scheduled classes to $550  (all-inclusive)  for a private one on one class.  Our price includes the scuba park entry fees for two days and all air fills for lake weekend.  When you are pricing a class, ask the dive shop and/or instructor what is included in the price.    Click here for information on how much does the class cost?  Back to Top

  6. What does the price include?  Covers most everything.  You need to pay for gas to and from the open water site, hotel fees if you stay in a hotel, breakfast and dinner costs.   Click here for a full listing of what the course price includes.   Back to Top

  7. What is your class schedule?   Click here for our calendar.  Back to Top

  8. Why do I need to buy my own mask, fins, snorkel and booties?  The mask should fit your face, the fins should fit your feet, the booties should fit your feet and the snorkel should be one that you like.  The mask, fins, snorkel and booties is what we call "Personal Gear".  You will be taking your personal gear with you when you go diving.  You will be more comfortable if these items fit you well.  You can rent them at most diving destinations.... if they have your size.

  9.  We have a student gear bag that contains a mask, fins, booties, snorkel, log book, slap strap and gear bag for sale to our students.  We can also refer to you a dive shop to purchase your personal gear.  It makes no difference to us where you purchase your personal gear.  The main concern is that it fits you appropriately. 10. Do you have equipment for sale?  We have put together a student gear package of mask, fins, snorkel, booties, Cordura Log Book, a mesh dive bag and an Adjust A-Strap.   All of our student bcds and regulators  are for sale.  If you take a class and like the equipment you are using, we will sell it to you... if you want.       We can refer you to student friendly dive ships for equipment.      We can obtain equipment for you... if you know what you want to purchase.   Selling equipment is not our primary goal.... teaching scuba diving is our primary goal.

  12. Can my friend or significant other come to the lake with me?  Yes  Back to Top

  13. Can I use my Pool?  Yes, for most people, if your pool is at least 6 feet deep, we can use your pool.   standards state that the depth of a confined water site such as a swimming pool must be sufficient to meet the objectives of the skill. Some skills must be conducted in water shallow enough to stand up in while others must be conducted in water too deep to stand.   This works best with groups or family members that sign up together.  Back to Top

  14. What is an Independent Instructor?  Independent Instructors do not teach for a dive shop.   In our case, we like being independent instructors because we can set our own schedule, set our on prices, we offer specialties on all of our lake weekends, we offer trips to scuba diving destinations, we have equipment to outfit a class of ten, but we like to keep our classes at 6, we have 3 instructors, 3 divemasters, we offer a student personal gear package, we offer you the option of coming to our classroom or we will come to you, we can provide a pool or we can you use your pool (for most people, it should be at least 6 feet deep), we can assist you in purchasing equipment and we feel we can offer you a state of the art training and have fun while we do it. We just don't have a store front..  We are affiliated with a course director and several area dive shops.  We can offer you full service.
